Maksim Bashkatov is a well-known lecturer on civil and banking law. His fields of scholarly interest include banking transactions, monetary liabilities, derivatives, asset securitization, comparative private law, theory of civil law, and international commercial arbitration
Mr. Bashkatov has taken a number of internships at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, University of Vienna, Vienna University of Economics, Hague Academy of International Law, and International Academy for Arbitration Law in Paris. He has won an Ernst Mach Grant of the Austrian Academic Exchange Service, and several scholarships of the German Max Planck Society
As an educator, Maksim Bashkatov is highly experienced in teaching study courses on banking transactions and monetary liabilities in Russian, English and German
Maksim Bashkatov is Publishing Editor of the Messenger of Civil Law journal. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the online News Digest on the legal regulation of financial services markets (published jointly with M-Logos Institute), and the periodic collection of research papers, Private Law and the Financial Market
