Arbitration – Does the Seat Matter?

1 hour 31 minutes

Arbitration is the number one dispute resolution mechanism for international disputes. With the number of disputes rising in recent years also competition among international arbitration venues has evolved — traditional venues are being challenged by newcomers, governments seek to support arbitration venues, institutions are expanding beyond their home jurisdictions. Various surveys and publications have analyzed different venues, however, it is still not easy to determine the difference between various arbitration seats. This panel comprised of several of the World’s leading arbitration experts will discuss the importance of selecting the right venue for arbitration and also debate the pros and cons of different venues.
